*Searching for disorder name* I'm constantly wanting to pick at my finace~hairs, pimples, ect.~mainly on face

I find myself constantly looking for things to pick on him when I'm sitting near him. I would pick for hours if he let me...but obviously he finds it extremely annoying. I have never picked my own skin to the point of scarring or anything like that...any ideas on what this may be called?

There is a form of OCD that involves picking your own skin or pulling out your own hair so I would imagine if you are doing it to someone else it would be a form of it. Just look up OCD disorders. Its a really long name that i can't remember something like tricateilomania. That's not it, but it's something along those lines. Good luck........





I just looked it up its called...Trichotillomania..(I was close :)


My brother has it, he pulls his hair out so much he has bald patches. He has been on meds for years and has never had a relapse.

haven't you ever seen Monkeys on TV grooming each other.. it is a way to have contact.. but after awhile the groomie bites the gorrmer to get him to stop.. so lay off the BF and get some help for it before he bites you!!!
