Does anyone else have a sister-in-law that really crawls under your skin?

I have 5 brothers and 5 sis-in-laws. The one is just nerve racking to be around. She has an eating disorder, but REFUSSES to believe the doctors or my brother. She gets every illness in the book, she is so heavilly medicated most of the time she speaks in slow motion. If another member of the family is in poor health, she turns the subject to her and her sorrows. She is so fony it's upsetting.

I feel as long as my brother's happy I shouldn't make anything out of it.

I bite my touge as best I can, but she upsets me so much that I want to scream.

We have the holidays up and coming and she'll make her ussual excusses and we'll see my brother for an hour if were lucky.

Help and advice are welcome.

this sounds like someone i know.

i know the feeling, i have a friend that is the same way (exept the eating disorder). if she stubs her toe she is getting a pain killer (shot not pill cause it doesnt work fast enough).

im pregnant and this is suppose to be a happy time for me but she always wraps me into her "problems", not that i dont have my own.

Just tell your brother that if she is "sick" dont bring her. she needs to stay home and rest, and he needs to get out of the house so he doesnt "catch" the same thing
Reply:nothing you can do but ignore her. the less attention she gets, the better. it's a shame about your bro though. maybe he'll wise up this yr and tell her to get lost.
Reply:i feel like we are the same boat, but my sister-in- law doesn't have anything wrong with her she is just lazy, they use to live with us she would cook but never clean,i just tired of it throw both of them out,i don't even go to there house now because i know what it will look like
Reply:I have a sister-in-law like that but without the illness. When she comes to visit, she is loud, nosy, and lazy with a capital L. She has gotten mad at me a few times for telling her the truth of how she acts but has never stayed away for long. She complains about everything. My sister-in-law makes me crazy too. I let my husband handle his sister, and I try to avoid her at all costs. Maybe you can quickly change the subject when she starts up about her hypochondriac symptoms. Let her see that you aren't interested in any of her "sicknesses". Take your brother to the side and tell him about it. There is no sense in you having to put up with her bull.
